John Deere now offers a 96-month/20,000-hour warranty on its 944K hybrid wheel loader for those who purchase it between now and October 31, 2018.

Basically, the warranty includes a non-prorated assurance on certain components of the wheel loader, such as the generators, wheel motors, brake retarders, and power inverters. Buyers should meet certain conditions to maintain the warranty’s coverage, including drive voltage cables replacement between 15,000 and 18,000 hours; component rotation between 15,000 and 18,000 hours; and a yearly dealer machine inspection.

Stating the purpose of offering the warranty, John Deere director for product support, Jason Daly, said:

“We continue to build confidence in our hybrid technology and the high-design life of machine components. As our hybrid experience continues to grow, we feel strongly that this 20,000-hour warranty allows a customer the opportunity to go through a 15,000-hour rebuild/re-life without the expense of worrying about power electronic components.”

The 944K hybrid wheel loader features an EPA Interim Tier 4, 536 horsepower engine and can provide more fuel savings compared with other loaders with conventional drivetrains. Other notable features include brushless AC motors and generators, solid-state power electronics, and water-cooled brake resistors.
