The leading building materials company in the US, U.S. LBM Holdings, has acquired Ridout Companies, with Ross Ridout assuming the role of president in his company.

Being in the construction industry for about 46 years, Ridout Companies had grown into the biggest privately owned dealer of building materials in Arkansas. Today, it operates 12 locations in the state and one in Joplin, Missouri. It supplies a range of products to DIY and professional builders, including lumber, doors, windows, cabinets, and roofing, flooring and decking materials. Apart from this, the company also offers design and installation services.

Sharing his opinion about the acquisition, Ridout said:

“Our business has grown successfully for more than 45 years, and joining U.S. LBM will take us to the next level. We’re excited about the new opportunities this partnership will create for our employees and customers.”

U.S. LBM Holdings CEO and President, L.T. Gibson, also stated:

“Over the decades, Ridout has grown into a premier building materials company, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the U.S. LBM family. This new partnership allows us to continue delivering on our strategy of bringing local market leaders together while also expanding our portfolio into new and growing markets across the country.”

U.S. LBM is one of the biggest distributors of specialty building materials in the country, operating a network of outlets located in 29 states. On the other hand, Ridout includes the Ridout Lumber Companies of Arkansas and Missouri, Arkansas Wholesale Lumber Co., and Ridout Door Mfg. Co.
